It’s not too early to think about a U.S. stone-industry trade show this year – because they’ll soon be all done.

Owing to the delay of the next StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas until January 2011, the list of stone events for this year is down to three ... and two of them will be over before Valentine’s Day.

LIBERTY, N.C.Salem Stone is the new reseller for Scandinvent AB for the United States.

Salem, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based machinery and tooling distributor, will also handle Canadian sales in Ontario for Västerås, Sweden-based Scandinvent.

DALLASStonExpo/Marmomacc Americas will return ... but not next year.

Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the owner/producer of StonExpo, will move the next edition to Jan 25-28, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

With any large stone project, there should be visits to the quarry and/or fabrication facilities.

Besides the many obvious reasons for reviewing stone colors, it also gets the project team together without many of the distractions that would occur at the office. Relationships between general contractor and stone contractor are further solidified to work together as a team to “sell their plan” to the owner and architect.
