Jordan M. Wright, 50, of an embolism on May 11. Wright served as president and publisher of Ashlee Publishing Co. since 1990, and purchased Dimensional Stone (later Stone) and Tile & Decorative Surfaces in September 1997; both magazines stopped publication in the fall of 2003. Other publications he published at Ashleee included Glass Digest and Glass Industry; with Volo Publishing LLC, he was the first publisher of Waterkeeper and also published Pacific Arts Journal.
A licensed attorney in New York and Pennsylvania, Wright also was the founder of the planned Museum of Democracy. He held what was widely believed to be the largest collection (1.2-million-plus items) of U.S. political memorabilia, and wrote Campaigning for President, published in January by Harper Collins. A portion of Wright’s collection is now being exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York; Wright's parents will now work to finish a permanent home for the artifacts, according to a New York Times op-ed piece.
